I resisted Instagram for a very long time because I am a bigot towards Photoshop because of all of its features and taking a few college classes.   I have learned to love the square shape.  It forces me to look at my compositions with a fresh perspective.   And don’t hate me but I love the high contrast filters and the frames.  I just wish I could pick and choose the combo of filter and frame myself!
