I was at a local zoo the other day and they have 2 black bears there.

When photographing animals, dont just photograph them as a whole in their environment.   Bring your zoom lens ands get in close to the things that make them unique.  

Capture their interaction with each other and with the crowd.

This holds true with photographing people.  I love using a zoom lens when taking pictures at a family party.   People are more natural because they don’t know you are watching.  

Challenge yourself to capture when someone is looking at a loved one or when kids are giggling or even when someone is deep in thought.

Like I am always saying, open your eyes and observe what’s going on around you.
